Recipe for Hot Cross Bun French Toast

Hot Cross Bun French Toast

Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 hot cross buns, halved

  • 1 egg

  • 25ml whole milk

  • a pinch of freshly grated nutmeg

  • 10g butter

Method:

  1. Gently whisk together the egg, milk and nutmeg in a bowl. Melt the butter in a thick-based frying pan over a medium heat.

  2. Press each half of the hot cross buns into the eggy mixture on both sides. Cook in the melted butter until golden brown on each side. Serve immediately.
